Although she is officially unemployed, Denise Frame Harlan juggles work as a writer, teacher, tour guide, nanny, fiber artist -- and a mother. Each of her jobs brings her joy, but not much money.

Originally from Farmland, Ind., Denise Frame Harlan lives and writes from her home north of Boston. She teaches at Gordon College and guides tours with Exploritas New England.
Harlan recently completed Seattle Pacific’s MFA program in creative writing. Her work has been published in Interweave Spin-Off, Living Crafts magazine, Lost Magazine and Catapult Magazine’s Eat Well: A Road Map. Her story about learning to cook will be featured in the forthcoming book, “The Spirit of Food.”
Nurturing Children Through Worship and Prayer Initiative
A new grant is available to support endeavors that help children come to know and love God and grow in faith.
The Nurturing Children Through Worship and Prayer Initiative aims to support programs that help congregations strengthen worship and prayer practices that respect how children experience God and express their faith, include children with disabilities, draw upon the arts, create opportunities for Bible storytelling, and connect worship to the daily lives of children and families.
Proposals are due by 5 p.m. (ET) on May 6, 2024.
