Adam Hamilton: The church offers 'what's desperately needed'

Mainline Protestants are uniquely positioned to reinvigorate the American church by bringing together the evangelical and social gospels, the Rev. Adam Hamilton says in an interview with local television news anchor David Crabtree.

The Rev. Adam Hamilton is the founding pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas. With more than 12,000 adult members and an average weekly attendance of 7,500, the Church of the Resurrection was named the most influential mainline church in America in a 2005 survey of pastors.

Hamilton spoke in October 2008 at Convocation & Pastors’ School at Duke Divinity School.
